News Release: CSCMP & NASSTRAC Announce Formal Strategic Partnership
Lombard, Illinois USA (May 29, 2018) - The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) and the National Shippers Strategic Transportation Council (NASSTRAC) are pleased to announce that they will be formally joining together in partnership. Over the past few years, the groups have been working together on a variety of projects and discovered there are significant synergies between two associations and opportunities to complement one another and provide additional value to their members in very meaningful ways.
CSCMP is the leading supply chain association committed to advancing, educating and connecting supply chain management professionals. Lead by President and CEO Rick Blasgen, CSCMP is comprised of over 6,000 members, 130 corporate members, 60 global roundtables, annual conference attendance of 3,000+, the Supply Chain Quarterly magazine, cutting-edge research, academic participation, and a passion for end-to-end operations. CSCMP has welcomed NASSTRAC, and we are jointly excited to announce this new venture.
NASSTRAC, is a professional organization focused on shippers and transportation. Founded in 1952, their mission is "providing education, advocacy and provider relations to transportation, logistics and supply chain professionals who manage freight" across all modes." Lead by their Executive Director, Gail Rutkowski, NASSTRAC provides its members with content, education, advocacy and engaged events with speakers, panels, sponsors, media relations and exhibitors driving real-time value for decision making
NASSTRAC will integrate their annual conference with the CSCMP EDGE Conference in the Fall of 2019. CSCMP EDGE draws over 3,000 people annually. The 2019 conference will be held September 15-18 of 2019 in Anaheim, CA. We believe this change will benefit both associations, conference attendees, exhibitors, the industry at large, and should provide a model for future years.
CSCMP together with NASSTRAC will assist in answering the challenges facing the transportation industry with broader and deeper content, more educational opportunities, focused and impactful advocacy, and more engagement in a number of increased events for members.
"We are excited about the opportunity to join forces with NASSTRAC, says Rick Blasgen, CSCMP's President & CEO. "As this partnership deepens, you will see more content, more education, more advocacy, more opportunities to engage locally and through the annual conference, more access to research, articles and social tools for networking and a true appreciation for the discipline and our members. The current NASSTRAC leadership, along with the strategic advisory CSCMP Board participation, will all advance the focused direction of value created for our members."
